First day of NYWC

Today was the first day of the National Youth Workers Convention. I'm taking a Intensive Seminar before the actual convention. On how to work yourself out of a job. Wondering way I'm taking this? Well it has to deal with Student leadership. The question I'm wondering about now. Is that how do I get my new leadership team to take over some of my jobs? What will my church think? Will my students take over the stuff or will I just be left out in the cold? This seminar is making think about the challenges ahead as I start with this new team. Also as I enter my 10th year of Ministry at Hinsdale. Will see what tomorrow will bring.

Another Year of Life

Today is my Birthday. I turned 33 today. All I can say that this was not a great Birthday. I love my Birthday and all that comes with it. However this time it has come and gone. Maybe next year will be different since I won't be at camp and I'll be at home. I can say though that I'm blessed to see another year. I have a great family. That is the only thing someone needs on their Birthday. Well I guess I will begin the countdown to Christmas which is my next favorite time of the year. May this new year of life be filled with many great blessing and may the changes that come be something that God is leading and not my own self.

NYWC Day 1

Today I had my first day in San Diego. I'm here for the National Youth Workers Convention. Today I started out by visiting the USS Midway. This thing is amazing. A city on the water. All I can say is that I respect those who serve on these ships. I then started my Intensive course. Really talked some heave issues but what was said really made me think about my "mission statement" as a Youth Pastor. I'm excited to finish up this course and to get the convention started. I'm excited about the Newsboys concert tomorrow. They have a great album out right now. I haven't seen them perform in a long time. It should really be good with Michael Tait.
I pray that the Lord continues to open my mind and heart as I continue at this convention.
